At Eva's Play Pups, our overnight team plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, calm, and structured environment for our dogs. This is not an entry-level kennel position. It is a high-trust role that requires both independent judgment and the ability to work effectively as part of a team when scheduled.
About the Role
You will be responsible for monitoring dog behavior and needs, maintaining a calm and controlled environment, feeding, cleaning, and completing routine care, identifying and responding to issues, and ensuring the safety of all dogs in your care. Some nights you will work independently, while other shifts require close coordination with another team member. Success in this role depends on strong judgment, clear communication, and consistency.

Who This Role Is Designed For
Our most successful overnight staff typically come from veterinary assistant or technician backgrounds, grooming or boarding facilities, prior kennel or daycare environments, or other overnight care roles. You will do well here if you are comfortable working independently, can also communicate clearly and work cooperatively with a partner, stay calm and clear-headed under pressure, have strong observational skills with animals, and take pride in being reliable and consistent.

Not the Right Fit If You
Are looking for a casual or social work environment, need constant direction or supervision, struggle with communication or teamwork, are new to animal care, expect a slow pace, or are uncomfortable being responsible for safety in a structured setting.
